Welcome to Nutritious Living!

I’m Caroline, a nutritionist and the writer and recipe creator behind this website. I am passionate about food, and love to help people enjoy nutritious eating. I don’t do diets, restriction or fads, I just champion wholefoods, lots of vegetables and seasonal eating. I spent three years studying nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, and am currently completing clinical training to practice as a Nutritional Therapist. 

In September 2018 my life was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with Stage IV, incurable bowel cancer. Since then I have been undergoing treatment including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which will continue indefinitely. I use nutrition and complementary therapy to support my body through the treatment.

It’s a huge challenge and the chemo is very draining, but my diagnosis has made me determined to live life to the full and be my happiest, healthiest self. That is the message I want to portray with Nutritious Living; whatever you are going through, you can find positives in life, and do a lot to support your body to be healthy.

On this site, you’ll find simple and nutritious recipes, with an emphasis on whole foods and lots of vegetables, and free from refined sugar. They are meant for everyday cooks and food lovers like me. All the recipes are my own.
